bye bye, crib

August 29, 2008

Tonight I put Finn to bed, went across the hall to fill his sippy cup with water and came back to find him like this.

The funny thing is that early today I actually thought to myself that about this time next year we would have to think about getting a bed for him. Boy was I wrong. Reese never climbed out of her crib, so we never had to deal with this. If anyone moved their child out of a crib before they were two, what did you do? Buy a regular bed, toddler bed? With Reese we went straight to a regular bed, but he seems too little for that. So we took his mattress out and put it on the floor for tonight.

But that didn’t last for long, its 10:00 now and he is sitting on the couch beeping at a car horn on the TV. I think its going to be a long night…

senior guy

August 27, 2008

Last night I got to photograph a senior guy – only my second one this summer. He wanted a few photos with his dog. I love that! Just a note that his dog did NOT like me. I would put out my hand for him to sniff and he would turn his head away from me.

a girl, a dog & a violin

August 25, 2008

Last week I photographed a senior girl. She forgot to bring her violin along to the session and her mom really wanted her to have pictures with it. I suggested we get together another day and we would do the violin photos then. She has the most perfect field across the street from her house, so we headed there with her violin (and her parents new chair).

I like this one, because I took a stick from the dog and he is running to get his stick back.

some days

August 25, 2008

This morning I went out to look for some new locations.  Some days Reese actually wants her picture taken, I love those days. She posed herself here.

Finn, however, was not in the mood to have his picture taken. This is what 99% of the pictures look like that I take of the kids together.

drive-in

August 24, 2008

Last night I had the great idea of going to a drive-in movie. I saw that Star Wars: The Clone Wars was playing and I knew Badi wanted to take Reese to see it, so I suggested going to the drive-in. Not the smartest idea with a 1 1/2 year old. He did pretty well, but he wanted in the car, on the blanket, in the car, walk around the car, you get the idea. At least I didn’t care that I didn’t get to watch the movie at all! Reese & Badi had fun though.

Waiting for the movie to start.

I thought maybe we’d get lucky and he’d fall asleep (he kept laying down like this), but no such luck.

senior

August 23, 2008

Yesterday I got to photograph another senior girl. I love seniors. They love getting their pictures taken and are so fun to work with.

will work for candy

August 21, 2008

I was checking out another photographers blog last week and saw she had the cutest photos of a little boy standing on a big bucket. I emailed her to find out where she got it because I had to get one for myself. The bucket came today and Reese was actually excited to go find a place to take pictures so she could stand on the bucket.

Finn liked it, too.

All I had to do was offer a big lollipop if they cooperated…

new places

August 20, 2008

Yesterday I photographed another of my senior reps. If you have ever seen my business cards you should recognize her from it. She picked 2 new locations that I hadn’t been to before and we found lots of cool places to shoot. It was fun to go somewhere new.
